Full race details

Built for the Thanksgiving-week houseful

Thanksgiving week in Davidson means the college kids are home, the cousins are in from out of town, and somebody's been training all fall and won't stop talking about it. Here's how that shakes out on our start line:

  • The half marathon (7:30 AM) for the one who wants a real Thanksgiving long run. Two loops on paved Cornelius roads with an out-and-back on the McDowell Creek Greenway. If you do your long runs on Davidson's greenways, that stretch will feel like home. Total climb is about 721 feet: rolling, honest, never cruel.
  • The 10K (7:35 AM) for the cross-country kid, the former high-school miler and the cousin training for spring. It's a real race distance with official results and age-group awards.
  • The 5K (7:40 AM) for everyone else. Walkers and strollers are welcome (strollers start at the back), and kids under 4 walk free with a parent.

Everybody finishes under the same arch, so the whole crew can cheer each other in.

Twenty years of Thanksgiving mornings

2026 is our 20th year. We've put this race on every Thanksgiving since 2007, and for year 20 we're making it count: a finisher medal, a tech shirt, a collector's edition backpack, and a hoodie for half marathoners who sign up by Oct 23. Awards go three deep, overall and in every age group. Costume prizes too, so the turkey hat is encouraged.
