Mooresville, this one's for you. Full race details

Why Mooresville runners make it their Thanksgiving tradition

  • A distance for everybody in the house. The half marathon goes at 7:30 AM, the 10K at 7:35 and the 5K at 7:40. The marathon-curious neighbor, the teenager who wants to race, and Grandma with the stroller all get their own start.
  • A real long run before dinner. If you've been logging fall miles around the lake or out by Langtree, 13.1 on Thanksgiving morning is the payoff. You'll be back in Race City before the turkey needs basting.
  • One stop, no circling. Packet pickup, start, finish and awards are all at Life Fellowship Church, with free on-site parking and plenty of room. Park once and walk to the start.
  • Twenty years in. We've run this every Thanksgiving since 2007. A lot of Mooresville families have been coming for a decade or more, and the medal is one we're proud of.

Getting here from Mooresville

From downtown, take Main St / NC 115 south and turn right on Langtree Rd to get on I-77 South toward Charlotte. Take Exit 28 (Catawba Ave / Cornelius), turn left on Liverpool Pkwy, left on Chartwell Center Dr, and right on Chartown Dr. Life Fellowship Church is on your left.

That's about 9.3 miles and about 18 minutes with no traffic. On Thanksgiving morning, I-77 is about as empty as it gets. Open directions in Google Maps.
